Online Counselling

Online counselling is a convenient and flexible way of talking to a counsellor from the comfort of your own home. Unlike traditional counselling which happens face-to-face, online counselling usually occurs over video chat. While online counselling, or virtual therapy, can technically be done anywhere, it’s recommended that both client and therapist are in a safe, quiet, and confidential area during the session to avoid disruptions.
Still Waters Counselling offers online counselling services to clients across all of Ireland, dealing with a range of issues using a client-focused and blended approach of therapeutic techniques. Similar to our in-person therapy, Still Waters Counselling can provide CBT, Gestalt therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and trauma therapy amongst others online to help you tackle issues and overcome problems. Alongside our online-only counselling services, we can provide blended online and in-person counselling services to suit your schedule.

ONLINE COUNSELLING FAQ

HOW MUCH DOES ONLINE COUNSELLING COST?

The price of online counselling is the same as our in-person counselling services, and costs €50 per 50 minute session.

IS ONLINE THERAPY AS GOOD AS IN-PERSON THERAPY?

This all depends on the person. For many people, online therapy is just as good as in-person therapy, and can sometimes feel better. For other people, however, in-person therapy can work better.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST VIRTUAL THERAPY SESSION?

This will be discussed beforehand with your therapist. Clients should install the video software being used (for Zoom counselling, for example), and make sure to sit in a quiet, confidential, and relaxing area. Your counsellor will then bring you through anything that needs to be done before starting the session properly.
